The Capitals Triangle
Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo — three cities connected by scenic trains. Food, museums, neighbourhoods, and a day on the archipelago.
At a Glance
Three cities, all well connected by train. No driving, no domestic flights. English is spoken everywhere. August days run past 10pm, so there’s time to cover a lot of ground without feeling rushed.
Day-by-Day
Day 1 · Sat Aug 22 · Copenhagen — Arrival

Walk to Nyhavn, get food, settle in.
Day 2 · Sun Aug 23 · Copenhagen — Full Day
Reffen street food market on the Refshaleøen waterfront — a big open-air market with a lot of good options. Walk across to Christianshavn canals and through Freetown Christiania.
Afternoon: the train north to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk (40 min) — a modernist building on a clifftop with a sculpture garden facing Sweden. Worth the detour.

Day 3 · Mon Aug 24 · Copenhagen → Stockholm

Day 4 · Tue Aug 25 · Stockholm — Museums + Djurgården

Östermalms Saluhall food hall for an afternoon wander, then dinner in Södermalm.
Day 5 · Wed Aug 26 · Stockholm — Archipelago

Back by evening.
Day 6 · Thu Aug 27 · Stockholm → Oslo

Pick this if
You want the most straightforward trip with the least logistics. No driving, no domestic flights — just trains between cities and a lot of time to explore on foot. Good food and decent nightlife in all three cities.
Skip this if
You want nature. This is an urban trip. Parks and water exist but fjords, glaciers, and actual wilderness don’t.
